As our final project at Sheridan College, my team spent 10 weeks building a werewolf creature digi-suit complete with fully articulated hands, eyes, muzzle and jaw.
Personally, I was in charge of the animatronic elements within the project as well as constructing the posable ears and assisting with the fur application.
The jaw and muzzle are actuated by the wearer's jaw movement; as the jaw opens, the muzzle lifts up to a snarl. Additionally, each set of eyelids is actuated by a single servo motor, controlled using an Arduino running on a pseudo-random algorithm. Additionally, I installed a switch in the interior of the ear so that creature handlers could turn the blinking action on/off without going within the interior of the suit.
